Good memories Perfect Family Day Out!We had a fantastic time bringing the kids to Aquaria. It is highly educational, engaging, and kept the little ones wide-awake and amazed the entire time. They were completely thrilled by the massive three-story fish tank and loved watching the live feeding session at the Aquatheatre. It's a wonderful, safe environment with great accessibility for strollers and very clean facilities. Being fully air-conditioned makes it the ultimate indoor attraction to beat the tropical afternoon heat. The kids are already asking when we can go back. Definitely a must-visit for families!

The food choice was amazing, the cleanliness and attentiveness of the staff was outstanding and the views truly amazing. It was the special anniversary night out we planned and thank you so much for the little celebration.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Took the family up to Genting recently and honestly had a pretty great time! The cool weather alone makes the drive up worth it just to get out of the heat down in the city for a bit. We spent basically our whole day walking around the outdoor theme park, SkyWorlds. My daughter was completely obsessed with the rides—especially the Blue Sky Carousel and the teacups in the Rio zone. We also got completely sucked into the carnival games they have set up. I ended up spending way too much time (and money!) trying to win her a giant stuffed animal at the duck pond and the ring toss, but seeing her light up made it totally worth it. To be fair, it does get crazy crowded on the weekends, a couple of the bigger rides were closed for maintenance, and you definitely pay premium tourist prices for lunch and snacks. But if you just want a fun family weekend out in the fresh air, it’s a really solid trip. We'll definitely be back!"

Arrival & flow

Enter on the concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, directly accessible from Suria KLCC. Pick up the day's feeding schedule at the entrance board. The one-way route unfolds from Evolution Zone through to the Living Ocean tunnel.

Walk the living ocean tunnel

Malaysia's longest underwater tunnel at 90 metres is the centrepiece. Step onto the moving walkway and watch sand tiger sharks, giant stingrays, and green sea turtles pass overhead and on both sides.

Explore themed river and rainforest zones

Before reaching the ocean, the route passes through recreated Malaysian river habitats. Giant arapaima, electric eels, and freshwater turtles occupy large tanks set among lush vegetation. This section shows how highland streams connect to coastal reefs, grounding the aquarium's journey-of-water narrative with species visitors rarely see elsewhere.

Enjoy feeding talks and interactive touch pools

The touch pool lets visitors gently handle starfish and horseshoe crabs under staff guidance. Daily keeper talks and aquarist feeding demonstrations add commentary at the main tanks.

Upgrade for behind-the‑scenes access

Opt for the Sleep with Sharks overnight programme, which lets small groups camp inside the tunnel area after hours, complete with guided sessions, dinner, and breakfast.

Things to know before booking your Aquaria KLCC tickets

Booking window

• Weekends, public holidays, and school holidays sell out fast. Online booking skips the ticket counter queue and secures your preferred date. Walk-in waits can reach 20–40 minutes on busy days.
• During June and December school breaks, book 3–5 days ahead; for weekends, book at least 1–2 days in advance.

Entry and what your ticket includes

• Standard tickets include access to the full one-way aquarium route, the 90m Living Ocean tunnel, themed zones, feeding shows, and keeper talks. Visits are self-guided.
• Online tickets skip the purchase queue but not security and entry lines, which may still take 30–60 minutes during peak periods.

Ways to explore

• The route is designed as a one-way journey from the Evolution Zone to the Living Ocean tunnel and Weird & Wonderful gallery. Explore slowly, as backtracking is limited.
• Combo tickets with Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, or Petrosains offer better value and easier planning, but are best for fixed itineraries.
• The Sleep with Sharks overnight programme is a premium add-on for ages 5+, requires advance booking, and is not included with standard admission.

Re-entry and food planning

• Re-entry is not allowed once you exit. There is no full-service restaurant inside, so plan meals at Suria KLCC before or after your visit.
• Families with young children should carry snacks and plan timings carefully.

Accessibility and restrictions

• The entire aquarium is step-free and accessible via lifts from Suria KLCC, the LRT station, and the convention centre parking. Wheelchairs and strollers are allowed.
• Weekday mornings are more comfortable for accessibility users, as weekends can get crowded.
• Photography is allowed, but flash may be restricted near some tanks. Tripods and professional equipment may require approval.
• Cancellation and rescheduling policies vary by ticket provider, so flexible tickets are recommended for uncertain plans.

Evolution Zone

Where: Entry hall, first stop on the route.

Step into a snapshot of prehistoric aquatic life. Horseshoe crabs, ancient reptiles, and amphibians frame Aquaria's opening chapter as a journey through evolutionary history. Labels connect today's species to their ancient ancestors, giving context before the route dives into living ocean habitats.

Flooded Forest & Jewels of the Jungle

Where: Early to mid-route, freshwater section.

Towering arapaima, electric eels, and alligator gar occupy vast tanks set within recreated Amazonian forest scenery. Piranhas school in their own enclosure nearby. These freshwater giants are rarely seen in urban aquariums, making this one of the most surprising zones. Catch periodic feeding sessions when arapaimas breach the surface in a dramatic splash.

Shipwreck

Where: Mid-route, transition between freshwater and marine.

A recreated wreck environment introduces coastal marine species and creates a moody visual contrast after the rainforest tanks. Reef fish navigate through sunken-hull structures while moray eels lurk in crevices. The lighting dims here to simulate ocean depth, serving as an effective bridge between the freshwater and deep-sea sections of the journey.

Living Ocean Tunnel

Where: Central highlight, accessed via moving walkway.

Malaysia's longest underwater tunnel stretches 90 metres with sharks, giant stingrays, and green sea turtles circling overhead. The moving walkway provides a near-360-degree view at a slow, comfortable pace.

Weird & Wonderful Gallery

Where: Late-route gallery, before exit.

Moon jellyfish pulse under colour-changing lights. Seahorses cling to coral fragments. Stonefish and lionfish demonstrate how camouflage and venom protect some of the ocean's least-known species.

Interactive Touch Pool

Where: Interactive station mid-route; education zone near exit.

Supervised touch pools give visitors a tactile encounter with starfish, sea cucumbers, and horseshoe crabs. The staff there guides hand placement and explains each creature's role in its ecosystem. Station Aquarius near the exit offers digital kiosks, conservation information, and occasional short talks, making it a useful final stop for children to ask questions before leaving.

Visiting Aquaria KLCC with kids?

Aquaria KLCC is built for young visitors. The one-way route is stroller-friendly, the tanks are placed at child height throughout, and wide corridors allow families to move at their own pace without blocking others. Feeding shows deliver moment-by-moment excitement, and the touch pool gives children a tactile encounter that most other indoor attractions cannot match.

Kid-friendly features include:

  • Touch Pool: Supervised sessions with starfish and horseshoe crabs; staff explain handling gently and safely.
  • Feeding Shows: Shark and ray feeds run mid-afternoon; aquarist commentary translates animal behaviour into accessible language for younger visitors
  • Stroller Access: Step-free throughout. Lifts connect the concourse-level entrance from the LRT, mall, and parking.
  • Toilets and Baby Changing: Facilities are available inside the attraction.
  • Gift Shop: Located near the exit for plush sharks, ocean-themed souvenirs, and educational books.

Visitor tips

  • Check feeding schedules early: Shark and ray feeding sessions are visitor favourites, so grab the daily programme on entry and reach the Living Ocean tunnel 5–10 minutes before feeding time.
  • Visit on weekday mornings: Expect shorter entry waits and fewer crowds before noon. The tunnel walkway is far less congested compared to weekends and school holidays.
  • Eat before entering: Re-entry is not allowed, and there is no full-service restaurant inside the aquarium, so plan meals at Suria KLCC before your visit.
  • Carry a light layer for children: The aquarium is strongly air-conditioned, which can feel chilly during longer visits.
  • Pair with Petronas Twin Towers: Both attractions are located within the KLCC complex, making them easy to combine into a half-day itinerary.
  • Keep 2–3 hours for your visit: Most visitors finish in around 2 hours, while photographers and aquarium enthusiasts may prefer a slower 3-hour visit.
  • Take your time in key zones: The Living Ocean tunnel and Weird & Wonderful gallery are best enjoyed slowly, especially during quieter hours.
